I bought the hole pro X200 to cut holes in my bathroom walls, ceiling and floor, the holes were for lights and plumbing fixtures. It is a good sturdy tool, it works well in a 1/2 or 3/8 inch power drill. It is good for making rough holes,with an accuracy of lets say.. to the 1/16 of an inch if you’re careful, maybe to the 1/8 inch otherwise…it isn’t extremely precise. The shield is a must when drilling into ceilings! It catches the debris that normally hits you in the face, good for remodel jobs, when you can’t make a big mess on the floor, of course the shield doesn’t catch all debris when drilling horizontal or downwards, but the shield keeps shavings and dust from flying all over the floor. The drill cuts neatly thru 1/2 inch drywall for roughing out 6 inch recessed lighting. It cut a 5 and 9/16 hole very neatly into an acrylic shower panel(swanstone, corian etc..not fiberglass), and it managed to get thru about 7/8 inch of plywood flooring.I do not recommend that anyone attempt cutting any wood thicker than 5/8 inch, the saw isn’t strong enuf. I would say it is a good tool for the avid DIYer to own, It is a real time saver….and money saver, if you consider that a 4 or 6inch bi-metal hole saw costs around 40 dollars.
I would recommend it to a friend…but wouldn’t loan it to them…I like the tool.
